The Center for Water and Environmental Research (ZWU) at the University of Duisburg-Essen hosted the European premiere of Thierry Herbert Kamdem’s film “Graines de sciences” on Tuesday, July 21. This film offers a glimpse into the daily lives of many young girls who are passionate about science but who, often as early as adolescence, are expected to marry young. It highlights the influence of committed and inspiring women who are working to change these realities and improve the future prospects of the next generation. “Graines de sciences” takes the audience on a journey to the heart of remote regions where access to knowledge—and even to basic necessities such as drinking water—remains a privilege rather than a given.
